The Learning Curve...

FloralBrooch_PetalRepetition_Backside

There are stitches I’ve worked so often that I feel as if I could do them while half asleep, but there is something to be said in favor of repetition…it’s very useful and time-saving when tasks are at hand that need to get done fast and efficiently. I find this especially true when working on beading projects. In designing this floral brooch, the sequence of beads and thread paths that I used to create the flower petal took a bit of trial and error and required patience and time, but the second petal took far less time, and with the execution of each consecutive petal, my production time sped up by leaps and bounds! Another set of six short petals will worked between the larger petals (the backside of the brooch is shown). Each petal begins with a row of MRAW (modified right angle weave inspired by CGB). I think this piece will be stunning when finished and of course, I'll want to make several more in other colors!
