I've been having great fun working on polymer clay beads for the past two days. I have a lot of different polymer clay bead rollers to make various shapes, and these are very handy when one wants to make a lot of beads in exactly the same size. However, I really like to work in more of a free-form style where all beads are slightly different and one-of-a-kind. And I've found a super shortcut for making them...I used wooden beads as my base and applied clay over them! This method makes a lighter weight bead, uses far less clay, and takes only twenty minutes to bake. Along the way, I took time to do step-by-step photos and write a pattern for making these easy and elegant beads. I'll be editing the photos today and finishing the pattern. Check back tomorrow for a photo of the finished collection!
