Thank you to everyone who came to visit me at my trunk show at Brio Gallery on Saturday! This bangle was one of the pieces featured and many people inquired as to how the dangling pod was created and here's the answer... the silver pod started as a bead that I formed in my hydraulic press using sterling silver sheet. I then sawed the bead in half and added resin and inclusions of a very small sea shell, tiny shards of gold-colored glass, and a bit of "fairy dust" (aka glitter) for good measure. When the resin was cured, a hole was easily drilled through the top and silver wire was inserted to make a twisted ring from which to hang the pod. The daggers are made of textured fine silver metal clay. These elements along with several lampworked glass beads were placed on a hammer textured bronze bangle. Voila! Another fun piece!
