I've returned from my respite and now it's back to "business as usual". Maui was splendid, the weather was gorgeous, and we ate fresh fish every day. We truly had a lovely time! However, after being away for ten days, I was ready to come home. I've never been good at living out of a suitcase plus I missed the kitties terribly. And I also can't wait to get back in the studio and play! With my suitcase stuffed, I brought back
some nice treasures from Aloha Bead Company in Paia to add to my stash. Refreshed and renewed, I'm ready to try some new designs - I have ideas for hammered ear wires which will sport wireworked teardrop shaped stones, faceted briolettes and various other components. I also purchased some nifty nuggets of raw garnet and lapis lazuli that will be absolutely perfect in prong settings as rings or pendants. I want to play with polymer clay again too - it's been a while since I've worked with it and I want to experiment with new techniques. Granted, I did take a bead embroidery project along to work on, but I can hardly contain my excitement with the new pieces I want to make. At the moment however, it's time to catch up on stacks of snail mail and email correspondence, reopen my Etsy shop, and sleep - jet lag does not agree with me in the least! My mind will be a whirling dervish with new ideas, but my body will say "you're still on island time...relax".
