In search of the perfect choker...

I've always liked the look of big, bold beads gracing the neck and there are so many fashions that look wonderful with the addition of a statement piece of jewelry in this style.  I purchased this piece in San Francisco's China Town several years ago, but I've only worn it a few times because it is uncomfortably heavy. The weighty carved yellow turquoise beads are enormous.  I know I would wear it frequently if it weren't so incredibly heavy.  The solution is to admire these beads, but create a collection of lightweight beads using polymer or epoxy resin clay.  Note to self:  add to list of future fun projects!
