These mixed media earrings are such fun and they have a lot of movement! My “Billie Bass” earrings were made earlier this year when I was immersed in resin work. I’ve gathered many objects for jewelry making over the years and have a small stash of these brass fish. I sawed one in half, drilled holes, soldered posts on, and dipped them in patina solution. Suspended from Billie’s head and tail are my handmade bronze-backed sterling silver bezels, which I filled with resin and inclusions of tiny text from a French dictionary and a light sprinkle of “fairie dust” (aka glitter) for added sparkle! Twisted Argentium sterling wire attaches a small gear bead and petite dangle at the bottom of each earring. I wear them frequently and they never fail to get noticed and garner comments!
