Chain, chain, chain...

With the exorbitant cost of precious metals these days, this chain would easily cost several hundred dollars if I had made it with sterling silver. Seeking an alternative that would give a similar look at a more affordable price, I decided to make an asymmetrical linked chain using 18 gauge steel wire. I think it’s a great substitute! Each gently curved hammer-forged link varies in length. It is truly a one-of-a-kind chain. Measuring a generous 28” in length, it is finished with a sterling silver ring and hammered bronze clasp and is long enough to wear doubled. This linked chain is very sturdy and can easily hold a pendant of substantial weight.  My "Rock a Bye Birdie", "Madame Butterfly", and "Pirate's Treasure" pendants would look wonderful on this chain.  You'll find them listed in my Etsy shop!
