At my advanced age, I should be downsizing instead of accumulating. What’s the deal then with ordering more “stuff”? Well, as most artists will attest, there is always some material(s) one needs to create be it a component or something necessary to make a piece. In this case, I needed some “eye candy”, which is equally important for inspiration and stimulation. Years ago, I subscribed to Ornament magazine, but then started subscriptions to Bead&Button, Beadwork, Art Jewelry, and Lapidary Journal magazines instead. Unfortunately, those magazines are no longer in existence. TG, Ornament still is! So, as an early birthday present from my husband, I ordered this treasure trove of Ornament back issues and am so glad that I did! Each issue is filled with exquisite photos of fabulous jewelry and wearables! As I peruse each page I can feel my creativity ramping up! The good angel on my shoulder is saying “Get thee down to thine studio and start working!” But then, the naughty faerie on my other shoulder says “Ah, take the day off and enjoy the weather, sit on the porch with the cats, have an iced coffee (or flute of champagne!), and pretend you’re on vacation! I’ll confess…the naughty faerie is winning this argument today!
